Premiered at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals. Building on experience from the Tree of Life, my photographic input involved months of work with petri dishes, cloud tanks and experimental rigs in a South London studio, as well as a week in Austin with Terry shooting high speed elements.
covert street photography, motorbikes, stormy landscapes - all part of the Under the Skin experience. It felt more like being a participant in Glazer's drama sometimes.. Unforgettable.
VFX unit shooting Bison in Wiltshire, and 2nd Unit in Northern Spain - combined into some vivid dreams for Hugh Hudson's account of the discovery of cave paintings in Altamira.
A short film for Director Gavin Toomey. Shot on the 4k Dalsa camera - a very particular look from a sensor that is not available any more, using vintage Baltar lenses for warmth and falloff on faces.
Shot over 2 nights with 26 cameras, this involved pre-lighting large areas of a council estate in Romford for subjects that might or might not show up.. Another collaboration with Jonathan Glazer.
One of a series of Pfizer films shot for director Chris Vincze. Shot on Arri Amira using vintage uncoated Cooke Panchro lenses for flare and contrast.
Phantom 4k studio shoot, up to 2000fps for falling 'sand' - camera on a drop rig to freeze the motion even more. Lots of light for as much depth as possible for a chance at holding focus!
Phantom 4k, lots of 10ks.. and some clever props!
Motion control, macro lenses, heavy filters, fiddly rigs, forest of lights - all part of the fun of keeping it in camera!
A short film for first time director Hilton Earl, now sadly no longer with us. Shot in one night in Soho in 2001, on super 16 - all available light.
Was released as part of a DVD compilation of experimental urban films - ' Urban Visions':

A 2006 music video featuring Samantha Morton for director Chris Cunningham. Shot on DVCam after testing various formats including film. We liked the low tech feel and the way it burnt out with strobe lighting. Video was swiftly banned by MTV because of strobing!
An experimental short film shot in 1999/2000 - a life in the day of Waterloo bridge, from dawn to night. Shot on a mixture of 16 and 8mm formats with some re-photographed long-exposure stills.
A spec music video shot with minimal funds on super 16 - run and gun on the streets of Dusseldorf in 2000.
A music video for director Gavin Toomey, shot on vintage tube cameras with old glass, nets and 'committed' lighting - and tweaking with screwdrivers..
A series of COI commercials, shot on Super 16. All shot in studio with Some clever SFX rigs.
